Having Bigpond email issues on your Mac mail or Windows mail

 A. How to update server Setting and Bigpond password in mac

 

1.  Unlock your apple device like MacBook air or MacBook pro

2.  Go to Apple menu at top of the screen and select menu

3.  Now select preferences

4.  Click Add accounts

5.  Choose other

6.  Add your Bigpond email address and password including your name

7.  Click Done

Your Bigpond mail account will setup automatically. If it does not work than you can setup your account manually

 

Setup Bigpond account in apple mail manually

 

1.  Choose Imap server option

Details of Bigpond server

•  Imap.telstra.com for incoming Bigpond mail server

•  Smtp.telstra.com for outgoing Bigpond mail server

•  Click continues

•  Make sure SSL secure socket layer must be ticked or check mark

•  Authentication Bigpond Password: Outgoing mail server

•  Outgoing mail server: Smtp.telstra.com

•  Authentication: Tick outgoing mail server

•  SSL: Ticked or should be green check mark

•  Bigpond Password for authentication

•  Check mark or tick: Online

•  Click save or done

 

B. How to update server Setting and Bigpond password in Windows mail app

1.  Open update mail app

2.  Go to the settings

3.  Go to accounts

4.  Select Bigpond account

5.  Click on repair

6.  Update password

 

Bigpond account and setup manually in Windows mail app.

1.  Again, open mail app

2.  Enter Bigpond email address

3.  Go to additional settings

4.  Enter your Imap settings details

•    Server Settings: Imap.telstra.com

•    Port number: 993

•    Security Type: SSL /TLS

 

 Smtp outgoing Settings for Bigpond IMAP server.

•   Server Settings: Smtp.telstra.com

•    Port Number: 465 (recommended) or 587

•    Security Type: SSL/ TLS

•    Authentication required
