How to Setup Bigpond Emails in Mac Mail

Setting up Bigpond email allows email management on Apple devices to be done efficiently. First, open the Mail application and from the Preferences menu click on Add Account. Select Other Mail Account and type in your Bigpond email address and password.

Mac Mail tries to set up the account automatically, however, you can choose to set it up manually by selecting either IMAP or POP.

For IMAP setup, the incoming mail server should be imap.telstra.com and port 993 with SSL/TLS enabled. The outgoing mail server should be set to smtp.telstra.com with port 465 and SSL/TLS enabled as well.

For POP setup, the incoming mail server should be pop.telstra.com with port 995, while the outgoing mail server stays smtp.telstra.com with port 465.

When the settings have been entered, the configuration should be saved then the Mail application should restart. Test the setup by sending an email to see if everything is in order, if there are any issues, make sure SMTP authentication is set. Other problems can be solved with  Bigpond Customer Care Number if more troubleshooting is needed.
